Is an external locus of control bad?

Not necessarily. Some people are followers. If there were be no followers who accept their role, then there would be no leaders.

It was previously accepted that men are be leaders and women are be followers. This approach has changed to some degree in recent years. Groups of men, of women, or of mixed genders, all have some leaders and some followers. The followers help the leaders achieve their goals.

After all, an army with too many commanders and officers and not enough soldiers will lose the war.

Similarly, a workplace that has a foreman, a manager, or another authority figure, as well as a number of workers, has the same situation.

Theatrical productions have producers and directors; orchestras have conductors, and other professions have their own leaders. There must always be a single leader with an internal locus of control, and others who accept his position.
