You find yourself in a vast cave, crammed from corner to corner with framed pictures, open scrolls, precious stones, junk and an unmeasurable amount of gold coins. Several posted scrolls catch your eye, as well as a small trophy case. You bend to read the scrolls, resolving to look at the trophies a bit later.
Dragonheart, The Movie!
Go Draco!!!
Wow! What a movie! Dragonheart is one of my all time favorite pictures. We dragons don't get out much to see movies and such, but when we do, we're hoping for a film like this. Shown here are Draco (voice by Sean Connery) and the knight is Bowen (Dennis Quaid). Wait to go!
Caldron the red dragon is a wonderful cartoonist in the process of drawing a picture from Dragonheart similiar to the one above (*blank voice* you know, its that one with the, uh, the fire? *grin*). If you would like to see it, click here and scroll on down! *wink*
Writer's Block
Writer's block, grrr. Even us dragons get faced with it once in a while. Here are some suggestions I've come up with to help fight off this dreaded condition.
Change Position and Location.
Look around. Where are you? In a crowded or noisy room with friends or siblings? No wonder you're having trouble! If you have a nice quiet place to work (with a desk and comfortable chair preferably, but a table will work as well) I'd suggest going there immediatly. Still can't start? Try lying on the floor, stretching out in front of your cave, or anything else you can think of! This may sound crazy, but it works well for me.
Try a New Media.
If you're are using pencil and paper to write, try your computer or visa-versa. I'm told these are the most popular forms of writing among humans although I really prefer cave painting and fire letters (hey, have *you* ever tried typing on these tiny keys with claws?).
Read a Book and Write, Write, Write!
Pick out a book by an author you admire and read your favorite part for about half an hour. This may help your creativity flow. Last but not least, write down ANYTHING you think of, no matter how stupid it sounds. Pretty soon you'll get some new ideas for your story and you'll be able to write down what you want to convey to your reader.
