THE CHARACTERS

Bruce BRUCE BOXLEITNER (Captain John Sheridan)

Bruce Boxleitner is probably best known to television audiences for his starring role in the popular series, "Scarecrow and Mrs. King." Boxleitner co-starred on Danielle Steele's "Zoya," an NBC mini-series in which he co-starred with his real-life wife, Melissa Gilbert. He has also starred in several mini-series including "Till We Meet Again," "From the Dead of Night," "Bare Essence" and four of the five "Gamblers." Among his numerous telefilm credits are "Wyatt Earp: Return to Tombstone," "Gunsmoke V: One Man's Justice," "House of Secrets," "The Secret," "The Town Bully," "East of Eden," and "Double Jeopardy," in which he also served as executive producer. On the big screen, Boxleitner starred in the feature film "Tron," and has co-starred in "The Babe" and "Kuffs." Among his achievements, Boxleitner shared "Best Actor in a Television Series" honors with David Duchovny of "The X-Files" at the annual Sci-Fi Universe Magazine Reader's Choice Award.
Commander of Babylon 5 after the resassignment of Commander Sinclair. Outgoing and quick-thinking; Former captain of the Earthforce military starship Agamemmnon. He won one of Earth's only victories over the Minbari in the war; his precence on Babylon 5 was met with heavy objections by the Minbari government. Though he doesn't know it when he arrives, Sheridan's past plays an important role in the events to come on Babylon 5.

claudia CLAUDIA CHRISTIAN (Commander Susan Ivanova)

The multi-talented Claudia Christian has starred in over a dozen feature films including "The Chase," "Hexed," "Clean and Sober," and "The Hidden." Among her numerous television credits are starring roles in Danielle Steele's "Kaleidoscope," "Columbo," "A Masterpiece for Murder," "The Woman Who Sinned" and "The Calendar Girl Murders." Christian has starred in the television series "Blacke's Magic," "Berrenger's" and "Highwayman" in addition to her guest appearances on shows including "L.A. Law" and "Murder, She Wrote." Christian's talents extend into the musical arena, and her first techno-dance album, "Taboo," is scheduled for release in late '96. Christian provides the cartoon voices for several children's shows including "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Little Wizards" and "Hyperman," and she has completed writing a series a children's books entitled "The Misadventures of Emma Bradford."
Of Russian descent, a commanding presence, and quirky at times, somewhat pessimistic. Second in comman and in charge of day-to-day operations on Babylon 5. Promoted to rank of Commander in the second season. She hopes one day to command Babylon 5 (yes she will) or her own starship.

jerry JERRY DOYLE (Security Chief Michael Garibaldi)

Jerry Doyle has guest-starred in the television series "Homefront" and "Reasonable Doubts" as well as the daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful." His stage work includes "Searching for Good Dough" for the second City Comedy Troupe.
In charge of security on Babylon 5. He has a troubled past but was picked by Sinclair for the job. His rank is "Chief Warrant Officer". Strong friends with Sinclair; his relationship with Sheridan started off on shaky ground but later the are too big friends.

mira MIRA FURLAN (Ambassador Delenn)

Mira Furlan, a leading actress of film, stage and television in the former Yugoslavia, co-starred in "When Father Was Away on Business," an Oscar-nominated film which also garnered the "Golden Palm" at the Cannes Film Festival. She has starred in numerous other Yugoslav and European films including "The Loves of Blanka Kolak," "Beauty of Vice" and "Three For Happiness," which won the Grand Prix Award at the Valencia FIlm Festival. She was honored by her country with two Golden Arenas (Yugoslav Oscars) for Best Actress. Furlan appeared regularly on Yugoslav television, starring in major series and films. She was critically acclaimed for her extensive theatre roles, among them Ophelia in "Hamlet," Celimene in "The Misanthrope," Lea in "Dybbuk" and Natalya in "A Month in the Country." Her American credits include the telefilm "My Antonia," and productions of "Yerma," "Baal" and "Antigone," in which she won a Dramalogue award for the title role.
Represents the Minbari. Delenn is a member of the Minbari Grey Council and why she is on Babylon 5 as an ambassador is one of the many mysteries on the station in Babylon 5's first season. She believes she is chosen to fulfill a destiny, and sacrifices her power in her government to carry out a prophecy.

rick RICHARD BIGGS (Dr. Steven Franklin)

Richard Biggs played Dr. Marcus Hunter in "Days of Our Lives" and had guest-starring roles in "Falcon Crest," "The Twilight Zone," "T.J. Hooker" and "It's Garry Shandling's Show." His theatre credits include productions of "Romeo and Juliet," "The Tempest," "Shadow Box," "Look Back in Anger" and "Fanon's People."
Middle thirties, dedicated and self-assured. His background is mainly in experimental medicine so does not have a good "bedside manner." Dedicated to the point of obsession, and willing to help the needy in unofficial ways.

stephen STEPHEN FURST (Vir Cotto)

Stephen Furst came to the public's attention in the classic comedy film "National Lampoon's Animal House," playing the role of Flounder at the legendary fraternity. He also appeared for five years on the highly successful television series "St. Elsewhere" as Dr. Elliott Axelrod. He has starred in numerous other television series including "Misery Loves Company," "Have Faith" and "Delta House," and has also appeared in the television movies "Spies," "Offsides," and "If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Belgium," as well as the mini-series "The Bastard" and "The Day After." On the big screen, Furst's credits include "Little Big Foot." Furst, who has also directed several projects including the independent features "The Magic Kid" and "Hand Full of Wind," is set to direct his first episode of "Babylon 5" later this season. (#408)
Centauri assistant to Londo. Timid and given little respect by Londo, so far. He must stand by and watch Londo's downfall.

bill BILL MUMY (Lennier)

Actor, songwriter, recording artist, musician and writer Bill Mumy began his professional career at the age of five. He has worked on more than 300 television shows, including his co-starring role in "Lost in Space," "The Twilight Zone," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Bewitched" and "Matlock." His feature film credits include "Twilight Zone--The Movie," "Three Wishes" and "Bless the Beasts and the Children." A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Mumy is a writer of a television series, comic books and short stories. He is also one of four main composers who wrote and produced songs for the children's television series "Adventures in Wonderland," for which he earned an Emmy nomination. Mumy is co-creator and writer of Nickelodeon's current hit science fiction series, "Space Cases."
A monk-like male aide for Delenn, having lived a monastic life, is a true innocent on B5. One of the few who knows Delenn's important title, he is pledged to be with Delenn through thick and thin.

andreas ANDREAS KATSULAS (Ambassador G'Kar)

Andreas Katsulas has appeared in sixteen feature films including the role of the "one-armed man" in the hit thriller "The Fugitive." His other film credits include "Executive Decision," "Hot Shots Part Deux," "Blame It on the Bellboy," "True Identity," "Next of Kin," "Communion," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Sunset" and "The Sicilian." Among his numerous television appearances include roles on "Diagnosis Murder," "Murder, She Wrote," "Neon Empire," "Max Headroom," "The Equalizer," "Mancuso: FBI," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Hunter," "Jake and the Fat Man," "Father Dowling" and "Alien Nation". Katsulas also has an extensive theatre background which includes a 15-year run with Peter Brook's International Company during which he appeared in such productions as "The Mahabharata," "La Tragedie de Carmen," "The Conference of the Birds," "Measure for Measure" and "Uburoi."
Represents the Narn Regime. G'Kar is a patriot, always looking for ways to turn situations to the Narn's advantage. Though he at first seems militant, it becomes clear that the Narn are in a great deal of trouble as the Centauri rebuild their presence in the galaxy.

peter PETER JURASIK (Ambassador Londo Mollari)

Versatile talent Peter Jurasik has successfully worked as an actor and more recently as an author, co-writing a science fiction novel entitled "Diplomatic Act" for Simon & Schuster/Baen Books. The actor's most recent acting projects include two movies for cable, HBO's "The Night Shift" and Showtime's "Huck and the King of Hearts." Jurasik has had regular and recurring roles on several series including "Hill Street Blues," "Dear John," "Beverly Hills Buntz," "Bay City Blues" and "L.A. Law." He has also guest-starred on shows spanning twenty years of television including "M*A*S*H," "Taxi," "Columbo," "Perry Mason," "Dave's World" and "Civil Wars."
Represents the Centauri, a decadent and fading republic. Appearances aside, Londo is a "romantic" character with disparate official and personal sides, who wants back the glory days of the republic. His desire for the way things used to be are leading him down a very dark path; he is in over his head as some mysterious agents are helping him rebuild his empire.

jeff JEFF CONAWAY (Zack Allan)

Jeff Conaway is best known for his starring role in the long-running hit television series "Taxi." His television credits include regular roles on "Wizards and Warriors" and "Berringer's," as well as a role on the daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful." Conaway's telefilm and mini-series credits include "Dirty Dozen IV," "Bay Coven," "The Making of a Male Model" and "Breaking Up is Hard To Do." His big screen credits include "Pete's Dragon," "The Eagle Has Landed," "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," "Eye of the Storm," "The Rape of Eden," "Sunset Strip" and "Grease." Conaway has also made Broadway appearances in "Grease," "All the Way Home" and "The News."
Assistant and second of security under Garibaldi. Zack is a former member of a group called the "Night Watch".

jason JASON CARTER (Marcus Cole)

Jason Carter's diverse television credits include recurring roles on "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Viper," and guest appearances on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," "She Wolf of London" and "Diagnosis Murder." A native of England, Carter has a highly respected reputation for his work on the London stage having starred in many West End shows including "The Sleeping Prince" with Omar Shariff, Simon Gray's "Melon" with Alan Bates and along with Stephen Berkoff in his Royal National Theatre Production of "Salome." His feature film credits include "Georgia," "The Dark Dancer," "Boiling Point," "Dakota Road" and "King David."
A ranger, permanently stationed on B5, first appearing in season 3. He presented Sheridan and Delenn a powerful new ship called the White Star, which fused together the technologies of both the Minbari and the Vorlons.

lyta PAT TALLMAN (Lyta Alexander)

Patricia Tallman first performed on her father's radio show at the age of two and has gone on to appear in a variety of television, film and theatre roles. Her television credits include appearances on "Tales From the Darkside" and "Ring of the Musketeers" as well as several guest-starring roles on "Star Trek." Tallman has also had recurring roles on the daytime soaps "Generations" and "Guiding Light." Big screen credits include "Knightriders," "Army of Darkness," "Benefit of the Doubt," "Sweet Justice," "Creepshow II," "Road House" and the remake of the cult classic "Night of the Living Dead." She has starred in many off-Broadway productions including "As You Like It" and "Exit the King." Tallman is also an organizing member of The Faculty Theatre Company where she appeared in her first workshop production directed by Charles Nelson Reilly, her teacher and mentor.
She's a telepath, a former member of the PSI-corps, and original resident telepath (from the first serie), Lyta now returns to Babylon 5 full time to help in the fight against the Shadows.


THE CREATORS

DOUGLAS NETTER (Executive Producer) Douglas Netter is an accomplished television executive and producer. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at MGM Studios from 1970-1975. During that time, he produced over 75 feature films, numerous television programs and was instrumental in the construction of the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. He was involved in the production of "Lawrence of Arabia," the "Matt Helm" films, starring Dean Martin, Jack Lemmon's "How To Murder Your Wife," "April Fools" and "Porgy and Bess." In 1978, Netter formed Rattlesnake Productions, specializing in independent theatrical and television production. Among Netter's most recent executive producer credits are the Emmy Award-nominated 10-hour documentary/mini-series "The Wild West," the "Babylon 5" telefilm, "The Spirit of Flight" and "Black Wing" (promotional films for Lockheed and the U.S. Air Force), the television movie "The Legend of Captain Power" and the syndicated television series "Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future." Other projects include the series "Five Mile Creek," the pilot "Cherokee Trail" and the mini-series "Roughnecks" and "Wild Times." Netter also executive produced the award-winning mini-series "The Sacketts," based on Louis L'Amour's novels.

J. MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI (Executive Producer/Creator) J. Michael Straczynski has a long relationship with science-fiction and related genres. He has previously been the story editor and primary writer for the syndicated "The Twilight Zone" series and his adaptation of "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" for Showtime earned him both ACE and Writers Guild Award nominations. He worked as a story editor on two animated series, "Captain Power" and "The Real Ghostbusters," as well as the live-action series "Jake & the Fatman." He served as producer on the hit series "Murder, She Wrote," the "Babylon 5" telefilm and created the "Babylon 5" series. He has also written short stories, an anthology and two dark fantasy/horror novels.

JOHN COPELAND (Producer) John Copeland began his filmmaking career in 1973 as assistant to producer Euan Lloyd at the Twickenham Studio in London, England. Two years later, he was assistant director of the feature film "Paper Tiger," starring David Niven. In 1977, Copeland began his association with executive producer Douglas Netter and together they have produced the mini-series "Wild Times," "Roughnecks" and the Emmy Award-winning "The Sacketts." The two also joined forces on the pilot for Louis L'Amour's "The Cherokee Trail," the series "Five Mile Creek" and the pilot "Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future." Copeland also served as producer of the Emmy Award-nominated 10-hour documentary/mini-series "The Wild West," and co-producer of the "Babylon 5" telefilm.
