Hello my friends.
I am so happy to have
you visit me!
This is my Happy Garden,
and
you are welcome to stay
for tea and company...
Follow me across this
bridge
and we will go to my home
and have some tea.
This
is my most honorable daughter Charmony-san.
She takes great care to
make things beautiful
and
clean all around us.
Life here is good, well-balanced
and in harmony.
Her Auntie Miranda-san
named her
for the love of music
and for myself.
Her name means...
Charlene in harmony!
I am a lucky woman...
because I have two beautiful
daughters!
They are twins!
This is a good thing,
neh?
You should see my daughters
when they
are dressed for dancing.
They are a sight to behold...
They make my husband and
myself proud!
Ahhh...
I am a fortunate woman!
Many people gather at
our village to dance...
My daughters are a prize
at the gatherings!
We
are happiest when we are dancing!
Social dances are the
most fun,
but some dances are very
serious and tell a story.
This is one way we keep
our history,
through dance and stories!
We teach our children
to be respectful in this way.
It is the way of our ancestors...
It is the way of beauty,
and
love of all life!
Now my daughter Amanda-san
is gone away...
She is a grown and married
woman.
She has married a very
important man of our village...
He is a Samuri and very
brave!
He is a warrior
but is still very gentle.
He is a good man.
My joss is good, yes?
Maybe soon I will be a
grandmother!
I have made many prayers
for both my daughters
and
put them to float on the
river...
I pray they will be happy
and
have good lives.
I pray they will marry
a good man
like my husband
and
have many children!
When my husband and I
were married
he gave me a son!
My son is a man now.
He is in the navy!
When he was small his
father would take him
hunting and taught him
about life...
He taught him to shoot
a bow,
and how to fish.
My husband is the greatest
fisherman in all the village!
He is a good provider
and
brings me many fish to
clean...
It is a great honor and
we have much to eat
and plenty to share!
My daughter Amanda-san
is a prominent cook...
She
works in a large city
cooking for many important
people
in a fine restaurant.
Charmony-san
works in
the city too.
She is a teacher of music
and
a tutor to those who are
less fortunate than we are...
Her father and I are very
proud of her!
She is a good person
and
helps many people.
She
is also very talented
and plays many instruments...
She has played music all
her life.
When my daughters were
little
they would sing and dance
all the time.
They were happy children.
They loved to play games
and sing with their cousins
Shani-san and Colleen-san.
We spent many happy hours
at the home of Miranda-san.
We are best friends for
years
and
have been though many
things together...
Miranda-san and I.
The winds of fortune have
smiled upon us.
We have beautiful children
and
good husbands...
Miranda-san
is a grandmother now.
She has two beautiful
grandsons!
One from each of her daughters.
She has good Karma
and so do I.
When she was young,
she was very beautiful...
Now we are both growing
older
and
fatter!
Aieee...
But our husbands love
us.
That is all that matters.
They are good men,
strong men.
We try to make them happy...
Ah...
We are here now.
This is my home!
Won't you come in and
have some tea?
I will tell you the story
of how I married my husband
and
how I became a teacher...
Part 2 coming soon!
