The Scarlet *itch

Though Wanda resurrected Simon Williams in an unprecedented display of power, she held her fellow Avengers captive and relished in torturing them. Quicksilver returned, apparently to join his sister and father in their plight for conquest. However, he aided the Avengers in hopes of freeing his sister from Magneto's influence. During the ensuing melee, Wanda was freed, but returned to her catatonic state.

The ruler of Limbo, Immortus, quickly arrived declaring Wanda to be his bride. During a battle with the Avengers and Agatha Harkness, it was revealed that the Scarlet Witch was a nexus-being -- someone who belonged to all possible timelines or realities. Immortus needed her in order to become master of all futures. It was revealed that he had been subtly manipulating Wanda and those around her for years preparing her to become his puppet. In the end, Immortus was defeated and, at last, the Scarlet Witch would relinquish the role of victim.
