Modred the Mystic

Modred was a sorcerer of the 6th Century AD who fell under the control the demonic Elder god Chton. He entered suspended animation and was revived in the 20th Century where he has battled several superhuman champions while under Chton's control. Most notably, he attempted to aid Chton in the possession of the Scarlet Witch. He was defeated by Wanda's brother, Quicksilver, and the other Avengers and was placed in the protective care of Bova, midwife during Wanda's birth. He eventually escaped and battled Captain Britain, England's super-hero champion, and was taken by the sorcerer Merlin to be reformed.
