Band formed in the early 60's. Their name was derived from Syd Barrett's favorit Bluesmen : PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. Dark Side of the Moon which was released in March 1973 was their most popular album.It remained on the U.S. charts for 741 weeks ( thats over 15 years ) .The release of Wish You Were Here proved that Floyd were a very unique band. They released an album called Animals, known as the forgotten album. Another powerful album was THE WALL- written by Roger Waters about his feelings of isolation from his audiences, the potenial barriers between all of us and his fear of his own aggression toward one of his fans.Original members : Syd Barrett , Roger Waters , Nick Mason , Richard Wright....... 70's members : David Gilmour , Roger Waters , Nick Mason , Richard Wright......Present members : David Gilmour , Nick Mason , Richard Wright.In this Old hippie's opinion, Pink Floyd has certianly carved out their place in rock history !!!
