V-Battalion

The V-Battalion has worked together since World War II to originally apprehend escaped war criminals but now works to make sure that their heirs and others that would claim to take over the world and manipulate it never succeed.

The original V-Battalion was brought together by a solider named Citizen V and they fought nazi's in occupied France during World War II. Then in Great Britain saw the creation of a group of Crusaders that included a young Roger Aubrey as Dynamite. Fighting the enemy Roger fought alongside Brian Falsworth his best friend who was the son of the Union Jack from World War II. They changed identities during this time, as Roger became the Mighty Destroyer and Brian the new Union Jack.

Later the Destroyer, Union Jack, and Spitfire helped rebuild London and teamed up with Symkaria's Wild Pack and hunted down escaped Nazis. After a meeting with the All-Winners Squad in the late 1940's Aubrey decided to create an international fighting force and reactivated the V-battalion in 1951.

Citizen V is a field operative for the V-Battalion and carries out the orders of the Penance council, which is the head of the V-battalion. In the eastern European nation of Symkaria is where Masada castle the original headquarters of the V-battalion and is located on the opposite side of the country from Silver Sable's base in Symkaria. Masada castle now only serves as a reminder of their history and as the docking site for their base of operations, which is the Vanguard Carrier. A cloaking field also hides the Vanguard mobile air carrier as to not arouse unnecessary attention to the V-battalion. This state of the art air carrier is seven stories tall and three city blocks wide. The technology acquired to build the air carrier came from Nathaniel Richards and Howard Stark through the use of reverse engineering alien technology. Tony Stark and Reed Richards later updated it although they don't know about it.

The V-battalion revealed themselves to the Thunderbolts during their hunt for Dallas Riordan.
They asked Dallas to renounce the mantle of Citizen V if she could not carry out her orders, ultimately the V-Battalion's mission was unsuccessful. The Thunderbolts tracking down one of their own members Atlas who snuck aboard the Vanguard Carrier looking for information on Dallas came into conflict with the V-battalion again. Having led the Thunderbolts to find them Roger Aubrey said the Penance council was going to suit up something they had no done in a long time and provide a solution to the problem. The Penance Council appears in costume at the end of Thunderbolts #40.
The Current and former members of the Penance council revealed in Thunderbolts #40 include Ameiko Sabuki, Robert Frank, Jr., Helmut Gruler, Roger Aubrey, Isadora Martinez, Darren Mitchell, Fred Davis, and Elisabeth Barstow.

Fighting a secret war for so many years have kept the V-battalion isolated and has taken its toll on them psychologically. Roger Aubrey has come to the line and even crossed it a few times in his efforts to reach their goals. He's becoming like the enemies he's been fighting against over the years. In the Citizen V and the V-Battalion mini series he would have had control over everyone person on earth so he could finally enforce justice even though he everyone would be under his control. Iron Cross who through his death helped stop an array of satellites that would have brought the device needed for the control to earth stopped him.

The children of who have assumed the mantles of their parents and the younger generation continue the fight with the V-battalion but there is a large gap between the old and young. The younger generation has the been given the responsibility to continue the battle that they were not even around for and they might have different ideas of what to do themselves. They have also sacrificed their youth and living a normal life.
