Macrovirus



The Macrovirus is a life - form that is probably native to an unknown planet in the Delta Quadrant. The Macrovirus resembles a virus, but it quickly grows to an extraordinary size. At the beginning of its life cycle it is at a submicroscopic stage. Then it quickly grows and infects its host as the Macrovirus multiplies. When it reaches the size of one centimeter it leaves the host and grows as large as two meters. An alien species called the Tak Tak had a serious problem with Macrovirus infestations. They created a policy which stated that they had to destroy any vessel or colony which was infected with the Macrovirus.
