The Talaxians



Humanoid civilization native to the Delta Quadrant. The Talaxian homeworld is called Talax. The Talaxians were involved in a decade long war which ended in 2356. The war ended when the Talaxians surrendered after the deployment of the metreon cascade. The metreon cascade was a deadly weapon that killed over 300,000 Talaxians on Rinax. Talaxians who came in contact with the fallout from the Metreon Cascade suffered from a deadly blood disease called Metremia. A Talaxian's respiratory system is linked to multiple points along the spinal column. One Talaxian tradition is to share the history of a meal before eating it. It is supposed to enchance the culinary experience. The Talaxians once helped retake Voyager from the Kazon.
