Are you interested in becoming a Starving Author (webring member)? If so, I'd love to have you. If you do want to join, you need to know, though, that I only accept sites that contain original writings or discourse on other people's writings. No illegally-used copyrighted material is welcome in my ring. Unfortunately, however, like all good things, this webring has a few other guidelines that you'll need to follow if you want to be a ring member.
1) Your site cannot contain any offensive material.
2) The Ringmistress will be the final judge. Her word is Law, so don't fight with her if she doesn't let you into the ring! ;}
3) I have no problem with you using the coding that I send out in the sign-up email. In fact I'd appreciate it if you used that. If you do not save the Starving Authors graphic, though, to your own harddrive and then upload it to your own website, I will not add you to the webring. I will check over this.
I do not like to see stolen bandwidth in connection to my own URL. If I see that you have not saved the graphic and uploaded it yourself, then I probably will email you and ask you to do so. If I don't receive a response, however, I will just delete your site from the queue. (How many times can I express this?)
Another tidbit concerning graphics: I have made and have been giving many different Starving Authors graphics; click here to choose which graphic you would like to have in your HTML coding. Remember, right click on it and save it to your own harddrive to upload to your site. You'll also have to change the HTML coding I sent you to fit the graphic. (Anyone who's had a lot of experience with webrings knows the whole song and dance, but if you're unfamiliar with it, please email me and I will help you out.
4) If you do get turned down, perhaps it could be for not enough site content. It may also, of course, be because you did not upload the Starving Authors graphic to your own webspace. Don't be afraid to retry. The Ringmistress appreciates pertinacity and is also a softy!
5) Please keep the ring coding somewhere public on your site. It doesn't have to be on the most obvious place or anything. As long as you have most of the coding there. (You can even take the graphic out of the coding and play with it however you want to, just have some form of the coding somewhere on your site.)
6) I guess that's all. Thank you for joining!
