Looking for a place to exchange your thoughts on the history of Montana, its people, places, and political, social, and economic development?
Or perhaps a place to just trade tidbits about Montanas past. Well. . . here it is.
While focusing on the history of Montana, the list is open to relevant discussion of such topics as the settlement and development of the Trans-Mississippi West, the Mountain West, the Pacific Northwest, the Western Frontier, and the "Old West.
The Montana History Discussion List is a free service, hosted by Yahoo Groups. The group has been in existence since January of 1999. There are nearly 200 members currently in the group--we are a friendly bunch, we seldom growl, let alone bite :)
The group is open to all. You need not be a "professional" historian to join and participate in the group's discussions, you only need to have an interest in Montana and or the West.
If you join, we ask that you please keep the content of your posts suitable for readers/participants of all ages. While debate and discussion are welcomed, no personal attacks will be permitted. Spaming, commercial advertising, pornography, racist (or other behavior which goes beyond the realm of common sense and good taste) will result in the offenders removal from the list.
