Meet Joyce Rogers

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my little corner on the net. When I was just a little girl, my mother would read her poetry to me. Even though she had her bouts with things she had to deal with in life, she still managed to write poetry through it all. This is something I will always be thankful to her for. Daddy read love stories but not poetry. To me, it seemed the two should go together. Out of all the children, I am the only one who writes poetry or enjoy it much for that matter...hmmm.

When I was in the sixth grade, my english teacher asked the class to write a poem. The following day, we turned our poems in. She stood to read some of the poems. When she came to my poem, she begin to cry. Being only 12 years old, I was baffled. I knew I couldn't write as well as my moma, but I had no idea it was that bad. She wiped her tears away and said, "Joyce, this is beautiful." From that time on I was inspired to write more poems. I was not consistent however. A life away from God literally put my writing on hold. Now that I look back, I am glad that I lost all desire and ability to write. Had I continued to write poetry, it would have been full of anger, perversion and God knows what else. Poetry has such an impacting effect on the mind and soul. There's no telling how many souls I would have poision with my ideas and philosophies on moral issues.

This gift was not released back to me until God knew I could be trusted with it...again. I write on issues pertaining to life here on earth and the life here after. For example:
Abuse
Male/female relationships
The beauty of sexual intimacy within marriage
Black experiences in America
The beauty and essence of life in Christ
Issues concerning life...period

The entire purpose of my gift is to provide insight on issues concerning all people of all races...from all walks of life. It is my responsibility to constantly examine my heart and make sure this insight is coming from God. After all, my talent is a gift from God. What I do with my talent is my gift back to God. Therefore, I watch over it to make sure that it never becomes perverted in any way or manner. Thus, thousands have been touched. That's because it is not my ink...but God's ink has flowed into their souls. In order for this to happen, Joyce Rogers has to write from a pure heart, a pure spirit. I can't afford to write from anger, hurt or resentment or it will be passed on as poison to you. That is NOT my purpose.
