I was a biology teacher for 25 years at Fairhope High School (which, by the way, is also my alma mater). I retired from teaching in 2000. I received my BS in biology from Judson College, a small Baptist college for women. I've done graduate work at the University of Mobile.

I am a past president of the Baldwin County Association of Professional Educators. During many of my teaching years, I served as one of the coach/sponsors for the school's academic competition team, called Scholars' Bowl. I also spent two years as the advisor to the Bay Breeze, Fairhope High School's yearbook.

I LOVE to read. My favorite genre is mysteries. Like many girls who grew up in the 50s and 60s, I began with Nancy Drew and the interest continued. The link will take you to a list of internet sites for authors I currently enjoy.

My Family...

Five generations of our family are represented in this photograph. Lucile Hildreth is holding her great-great-grandson Jonathan. I'm to the right of Grandmother. Behind me is Jonathan's dad and my son, Shawn. Where, you may ask, is the fifth part of this generational chain. It's my mother, BeBe, who passed away in 1983 but remains with us always in spirit. For many years, I had a cat-companion named Bunky, but she passed away from kidney failure in 2003. The little cat peeking out to say "Hi!" here looks a lot like my precious Bunky.
