Tears For The People
Our history teaches
truth without lies,
Elders speak with no
hate in voices wise.
How white men came and
stole our land,
Treaties broke from
greed I can't comprehend.
Feet planted I stand
drinking in painful truth,
Pray for strength now
to help mend Sacred Hoop!
Winds voice calls the
people to unite now as one,
Or surely vanish like
snow beneath summers sun!
The time has now come
all across the scarred land,
Ancient prophecy and
visions now at last are at hand.
White Buffalo Calf now
safely born without harm,
Across the land once
again The Sacred Fire burns warm.
Standing sadly proud I
think of wise leaders past,
Defending their people
while knowing they won't last!
All their wisdom seems
hidden, lost forgotten through years,
While my spirit cries
for justice through hot angry tears!
