The Bogota D.C. Colombia Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

It took fifteen years, from announcement to dedication, to build the Bogota Temple. According to those who attended the dedication it was worth the wait. President Hinckley considers the stone work to be the best he has seen, and the temple to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Colombia. The Celestial Room features a stone floor made of crema marfil marble imported from Italy, making it one of the few uncarpeted celestial rooms.

The temple was announced on 7 April 1984.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 26 June 1993.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 24-26 April 1999.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 53,500 square foot temple.
The spire is ? feet tall.
The Bogota Temple serves stakes in Colombia and Panama.
