The Lima Peru Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Peru has seen some of the fastest growth in the Church. It is also a very poor nation, that has seen nearly constant low level guerrilla warfare. Since the Lima Temple was dedicated, the economy and the violence have changed noticeably for the better.

The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 11 September 1982.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 10-12 January 1986.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 10,052 square foot temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 112 feet tall.
The Lima Temple serves 141 stakes in Peru, most of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

I have not yet found any pictures of the interior.
