16. Christian Justice, Pt. I

March 4, 1998

In a message dated March 4, 1998, VvJUSTINvV writes:

Quoting AirwaveBoy: "My response: Who are you to say that 'Hitler did not have this faith'? Are you not aware of how frequently Hitler touted Christianity as the one true religion? Hitler thought he was doing the work of God. As you can see from reading large parts of the Old Testament, Hitler was indeed doing things that the Christian God would do - namely, genocide. Now, we know from his writings and actions that Hitler thought he had faith in God, said he had faith in God, and acted according to this faith. So who are you to say that he didn't have faith?"

Justin responds: "Again, I think there are some misunderstandings here. You aren't saved just because you say you're saved. You aren't saved by saying 'Jesus is Lord' and then go on and kill 6 million people. "The man who says, 'I know him', but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him" 1 John 2:4. "Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brothers is still in the darkness" 1 John 2:9. And no, Hitler was not doing the work of the "Christian God." You keep touting this theme of genocide by him. Could you give me some examples so I could check them out?"

My question: According to your understanding of the Bible, Justin, please answer me this: If Hitler, after killing 9 million Jews, or at least being in some way responsible for the murder of 9 million Jews (or humans, how about?), would the doctrines of Christianity absolve Hitler if he confessed his sins (murder to the nth degree), and repented?

I just want to get a good grasp of JUSTICE, Christian style.

Can you help us out on this one, Justin, based on your understanding of the Biblical doctrine of salvation?

Looking forward to your reply.
