21. The Culture of the Bible

Quoting u48sjum (as quoted by VvJUSTINvV): "Except me I find nothing wrong with any culture, no matter how different they are from the culture I live in."

VvJUSTINvV responded: "You don't have problems with cultures that kill infants or have human sacrifices?"

Hawk 008 replies: "Justin! Oh my gosh! You have more nerve than just about anyone I know. I can't believe you said that, exactly what example has your [religion] been setting for hundreds of years?"

To which I say: Touché!

Every culture depicted in the Bible is an example of a primitive culture, a culture based on superstitious god-beliefs. Again, religion triumphs at the enslavement of man, and the Bible itself testifies to this fact. Would anyone here, including Christians (and that includes Justin), care to go back and live in the days of Moses, Jacob, or Isaiah? I know I wouldn't. They were primitive, even barbaric cultures, where its elite religious leaders justified and rationalized its every injustice by pulling out the 'word of god' crap that resulted in the tyranny documented in its pages.

A primitive culture is dominated by primitive philosophy. That philosophy is religion.

Yes, Justin, I agree with Hawk 008, you do have some nerve. Are you willing to go and live under such tyranny yourself? Or is it people like me, who have no god-belief whatsoever, that you want to experience these atrocious things? Apparently, that is your position, since you are the one so fond of this hell-fire and brimstone BULL! You've already planned in your mind some kind of torment for me. And you've never even met me. And you condemn me, a man whom you have never met, and you wish to see me cast into your beloved hell. I wonder, if you were given the opportunity, would you see to assuring my suffering right here on this earth as well?

Justin, let me ask you: Could you be 'moral' without your fear of hell?

Could you be 'moral' without your god-beliefs?

Just how do you define the concept 'morality' anyway? Is the notion 'god' integrally involved in your concept of morality, Justin?

Your 'god' has NOTHING to do with my morality whatsoever.
