Anubis
Anubis was the chief god of the dead. He was supposed to attend burial and to help guard the soul of the departed on his journey through the underworld. At the final judgment, he would weigh the heart of the dead person against Maat's feather of truth.
Statues and paintings of Anubis in tombs were meant to guard the mummies and frighten away evil. But they didn't stop the tomb robbers who took all the valuable furniture and jewelry which would be buried with the pharoah to provide for him in the afterlife.
