This is George's Mum speaking. I was going to compile a page of interesting links about Egypt when I found that somebody else has already done an extremely good job on this.
I would thoroughly recommend that you visit the Canadian Museum of Civilization site, which has masses of links, especially useful for schools and teachers seeking educational resources. If you browse through their list of links, you'll find general and tourist background too.
