Nile Cruise - view from the Nile west bank to Aswan corniche
This is the docking point for the Oberoi Philae, the boat on which we did the Nile Cruise. The ferry boats look like boats you can see in old paintings which date from Cleopatra's time.
If you look carefully you can see the curved-over lotus shape of the prow on the boat nearest the bank. Aswan, the southernmost town in Egypt and once a border point, has a translucent atmosphere and a calm ambience. We couldn't stay but we felt as if it would have been worth it.
A corniche is the street which faces on to the sea or river side.
