Nut
In the beginning, the Egyptians believed that the world was Chaos. Only the efforts of the gods maintained order. Nut was the goddess of the sky who both swallowed all the heavenly bodies and gave birth to them again.
Pictures such as this are painted on the ceilings of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Nut arches over her brother/husband Geb, lying on the ground, and her father Shu, god of air, who is helping to support her. She represents the cycle of the cosmos in which each day dies and the next is born. So she became associated with the idea of resurrection.
