Newspaper Rock

Newspaper rock
Newspaper Rock is part of Canyonlands National Park. This is probably the most extensive petroglyph panel anywhere. The thing I am curious about is the riders on the horses, and the wagon wheel. These are obviously more modern than the rest of the panel, but I am unsure how they got there. The Navajo believe the Anasazi to be their "Ancient Enemies" and they would not have gone anywhere near the Petroglyph panel. Perhaps the Ute's of this area added these things on. Or I guess the Anasazi could of had a very far sited Shamen....... My personal theory... These are glyphs from the Ute people left in the early 1800's and are of the Domenguiz and Escalante exploration party. This I believe would have been the first contact these indians would of had with white people and horses. If someone out in "cyberland" knows the awnser, please let me know.
