Biographical Information:
Corinne L. Saucier was a folklorist born in Marksville, La. She received her education at the Louisiana State Normal School, graduating in 1914. After graduating, she taught and served as principal in the Avoyelles Parish school system. Saucier earned an M.A. in folklore in 1923 and taught in Duluth, MN and Chicago before returning to Louisiana to teach at Northwestern State University from 1931 - 1955. In 1949, she earned a Ph.D. in folklore and has published several works on Louisiana history and culture. She died in Natchitoches, LA.
