What Makes a Southern Belle a Belle?

A Southern Belle is....

The very of Grace, Elegance, & Charm.

Kind, Considerate and a Lady through and through.

Never Loud, Conspicuous or Forward. A lady above all else.

Always well groomed, Never appearing to need makeup to enhance her natural beauty.

Always a Princess.
A Southern Belle never...

Curses beyond -- Dad-gum-it and Fiddle Dee Dee.

Appears to chase a man.... She chases him until he catches her. *dimpled smile*
Dream of wearing white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day.

Let a gentleman know what she is thinking. If she suspects he may know what she's thinking she must then change her mind.

Take out the trash, mow the lawn or change the oil in the car. Belles simply do not acknowledge these chores exist.

A Southern Belle would never dream of doing something today that she could think about tomorrow.


Never delude yourself into thinking that Southern women are weak helpless creatures. They are not! My husband once said I was tough as nails. hmmm... I think he's right.

Southern Belles are the very Essence of Feminine Mystique! Plain and Simple. :)
Don't waste your time trying to figure them out.
