OUR FOREIGN POLICY


    Whereas the Hutt River Province Principality legally seceded from the State of West Australia and from the Commonwealth of Australia on the 21st of April 1970;

    Whereas the Hutt River Province Principality is, as a sovereign and independent State, part of a community with shared interests based largely on a shared heritage;

    Whereas H.M. the Queen Elizabeth II is the undisputed symbol of this worldwide community;

    We hereby reaffirm our allegiance to H.M. the Queen Elizabeth II as Head of the British Commonwealth and symbol of our historical community.

    Furthermore, guided by the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, the International Bill of Human Rights and other international instruments in the field of human rights, we reaffirm our adherence to the following principles which form the basis for our foreign policy :

    - The equal right to self-determination of all nations and peoples;

    - Adherence to the internationally accepted human rights standards;

    - Adherence to the principles of democracy and individual freedom;

    - Rejection of totalitarianism and any forms of intolerance;

    - Rejection of discrimination and terrorism as an instrument of policy;

    - Protection of the natural environment.
