Flag 1: The President's Standard. Flag 2: The Flag used by the Irish Volunteers during the 1916 Easter Rising. This flag of the Irish Republic was flown over the GPO during Easter week, 1916, and survived the destruction of the building. It was taken by the British after surrender, and presented back to the Irish government in 1966. Flag 3: The Plough and the Stars (Starry Plough). One the flags of Irish Socialism, Republicanism, Trade Unionism and also formerly the Labour Party flag. |
