  Patsy Ramsey, mother of
JonBenét, wife of John Ramsey, 1977 Miss West Virginia. She remains an unofficial suspect in her daughter's death and currently resides in Atlanta. Her defense attorneys include Burke (19) and Furman (12) and Gray (4 ) is her civil attorney.. She attends the same church as Hofstrom's (9) family, Morgan (21), Beuf (15), and Barbara and John Fernie. The Fernies were close personal friends; although Barbara did not remain loyal to Patsy, her husband stands by John. Bynum (8) and "Pasta" Jay Elowsky (14) are also family friends. Other associates are Byron Chrisman (29), law partner of Ramsey friend, Bynum, who financed construction of (and who leases space in) the office building which houses the JonBenét Ramsey Children's Foundation, set up by the Ramseys to give a reward for information leading to JonBenét's killer.

John Ramsey, father of JonBenét, husband of Patsy Ramsey, ex-CEO of Access Graphics. He remains an unofficial suspect in his daughter's death and currently resides in Atlanta where he works as a consultant. John has the same relationships as Patsy, except that his defense attorneys include Haddon (16), Morgan (21), and Foreman (5). Additionally, he has business relationships with "Pasta" Jay Elowsky (14), Lowell Elowsky (18), and  Mike Bynum (8).

Roy Romer, lame-duck governor of Colorado, head of the Democratic National Committee. Tied politically to Clinton (20), Haddon (16), Hunter (23) , and Hart (24). Romer refused to appoint an independent prosecutor to replace Hunter  following requests from Fleet White and ex-BPD Detective Steve Thomas.

William Gray, John and Patsy's civil attorney. Gray and Hunter (23) have been limited partners in a commercial complex in Boulder since 1969. Wise (6) is a general partner in the same endeavor.

Lee Foreman, one of John Ramsey's defense attorneys and partner in the Denver firm of Haddon (16), Morgan (21) & Foreman. Foreman once defended Hoffman (25) in a legal malpractice case. He also defended, along with Burke (19) two of the "neo-Nazi thugs" accused of murdering talk show host Alan Berg, mentor and best friend of radio talk show host Peter Boyles, fervent anti-Ram. He was seen giving DeMuth (28) a back rub  during a meeting between Ramsey defense attorneys, the Boulder Police Department, and DA's team, which was held in Bynum's (8) law office.

Bill Wise, Assistant Boulder DA. Has been a general partner since 1969 in a commercial complex in Boulder in which Gray (4) and Hunter (23) are limited partners.

Edwin Meese, former US Attorney General under Ronald Reagan. Pat Korten (13) was spokesman for Meese when Korten worked at the US Justice Department.

Mike Bynum, close personal friend of Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2) and a founding partner of  the law firm Chrisman, Bynum & Johnson. He specializes in business law. Bynum is an ex-prosecutor who used to work for Hunter (23), and is said to have advised the Ramseys to "lawyer up" shortly after the murder. He is responsible for choosing the politically connected firm of  Haddon (16), Morgan (16) & Foreman (5). Although not an official part of the Ramsey defense team, Bynum has hosted meetings in his law office between them, the BPD, and the DA's team. There are also rumors that at least two members of his law firm are working as part of the Ramsey defense team, although they have not been publicly acknowledged as such.  Bynum is a business partner of "Pasta" Jay Elowsky (14), along with John Ramsey and Lowell Elowsky (18). His law partner, John Stavely (22), is "Pasta" Jay's attorney and Stavely represented Elowsky in court during his baseball bat and DUI incidents. Another partner is Byron Chrisman (29), who financed construction of  the building in which the JonBenét Ramsey Children's Foundation Office is said to be located. Bynum was put in charge of the house when the Ramseys moved to Atlanta, and hosted ABC's Prime Time Live tour of the Ramsey's Boulder home with Diane Sawyer. He announced that the house had been purchased by a LLC (limited liability corporation) composed of friends of the Ramseys, but refused to say what friends were involved. It is speculated that he is a part of the LLC. Eventually, the group plans to resell the house and donate any profits to the JonBenét Ramsey Children's Foundation.

Pete Hofstrom, Chief Trial Deputy DA and former San Quentin prison guard. Hunter admits that he depends on Peter Hofstrom for his information. "He's the one that's keeping me advised...He's what I consider to be the lead guy." His family attends the same Episcopal church as Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2), Morgan (21) Dr. Beuf  (15)., and Barbara and John Fernie.  Hofstrom allowed Patsy to do a handwriting sample in his own home, a session described in Vanity Fair as an "afternoon tea." He has been close friends with Morgan (21) for over 20 years, and they eat breakfast together frequently. Said to be chummy with Burke (19)

Hunter S. Thompson, Gonzo journalist  (the Doonesbury character is based on him), is a client of Hal Haddon (16). He is an acclaimed author and maniac, as well as an editor for Rolling Stone magazine. Perhaps his most well known book is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He is a more colorful connection than most.

Robert Miller, one of three attorneys, including Daniel Hoffman (25) and Richard Baer, who volunteered to help advise the Boulder Police Department. Miller was co-counsel with Haddon (16) in a case where they split awards totalling almost $15 million.

Patrick Furman, one of Patsy Ramsey's defense attorneys. Furman is a criminal defense lawyer and clinical professor of law at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Pat Korten, media consultant hired by the Ramseys who served for the first few months after the murder. A former US Justice Dept. spokesman and radio talk show host, Korten has ties to the Reagan Administration and the right-wing segment of Washington, and in the past has served as advocate for such beleaguered figures as Edwin Meese (7), Oliver North 26), and Clarence Thomas (17).

"Pasta" Jay Elowsky, close friend of Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2) who is known for his chain of pasta restaurants in Colorado and his impulsive behavior. He is a business partner with John Ramsey (2), Mike Bynum (8), and his father, Lowell Elowsky (18). The Ramseys stayed in "Pasta" Jay's home for six weeks after the murders. "Pasta" Jay is thought to have connections in the DA's office, as he was charged with only a misdemeanor after a baseball bat assault on people he thought were reporters spying on the Ramsey's.  [Patsy (1) even went down to the police station to serve as a witness on his behalf when she was refusing to talk to the BPD about her daughter's death.]  Being charged with  a felony would have had serious consequences for his business and his partners, such as loss of his liquor license and and denial of loans. He was given probation. In May 1998, "Pasta" Jay was arrested for a DUI, but the DA's office "didn't realize" he was on probation, and hence did not know he had violated it. His attorney is John Stavely (22), partner of Mike Bynum (8)  and Byron
Chrisman ( 29) in the firm Chrisman,
Bynum & Johnson.  "Pasta" Jay has been divorced twice, and both wives have charged him with domestic abuse involving beatings with bats, among other things (although he denies it). He has a strong sense of civic duty, however, and contributes food to many worthy causes, including the UC football team, where he is a role model for players and has been a close personal friend to the coaches. He is particularly close to Bill McCartney (30), ex-UC football coach and the founder of Promise Keepers, of which "Pasta" Jay is a member. Bill's son Tom McCartney served as a character witness for "Pasta" Jay in the baseball bat incident.

Dr. Francesco Beuf, JonBenét's Boulder pediatrician for the last three years of her life; she saw him 27 times. He is currently married to Penni Pearson, a painter who once acted on Dallas. Beuf attends the same Episcopal church as Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2), Hofstrom's (9) family, Morgan (21), and Barbara and John Fernie.

Hal Haddon, John Ramsey's lead defense attorney and partner in the Denver firm of Haddon, Morgan (21) & Foreman (5). Haddon has deep connections in the Democratic power structure on all levels, and was the manager of US Senator Gary Hart's (24) first campaign. Had Hart won his bid for the presidency, it was rumored that Haddon would be appointed US Attorney General. He has political ties to Hunter (23), Romer (3) and Clinton (20), and his firm has handled Clinton's taxes for years.  He is said by some to be more powerful in Colorado than Romer. His wife, Beverly Haddon, is a lobbyist and very active as well in Democratic politics. Haddon is connected to too many people to even begin to touch the surface, but one unusual client is Hunter S. Thompson (10). Haddon was co-counsel in a case with Robert Miller (11), which resulted in their sharing in the pot of $15 million in attorney fees and damages. He is also Hoffman's (25) personal attorney, and he or his firm  is the attorney as well for Donald L. Stevens, husband of Lt. Governor of Colorado, Gail Schoettler. She is the Democratic candidate for governor. Stevens was a fraternity brother of John Ramsey at Michigan State, and they have been friends for 35 years.  Haddon is also the attorney for Paula Woodward, "investigative" TV journalist and anchor at Denver's 9-KUSA. She has treated the Ramseys with kid gloves and hence was one of the few chosen to attend the May 1, 1997 Informercial.

Clarence Thomas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Pat Korten (13) was one of Thomas' strongest supporters during his confirmation hearings.

Lowell Elowsky, father of "Pasta" Jay, gun store owner in Bay City, Michigan, and investor/partner along with "Pasta" Jay (14), Mike Bynum (8), and John Ramsey (1) in a number of "Pasta" Jay's business ventures.

Patrick Burke, Boulder defense attorney representing Patsy Ramsey. He defended, along with Foreman (5) two of the "neo-Nazi thugs" accused of murdering talk show host Alan Berg, mentor and best friend of radio talk show host Peter Boyles, fervent anti-Ram. Said by to be chummy with Hofstrom (9) and DeMuth (28).

Bill Clinton, President of the US. Politically connected to Romer (3) and Haddon (16) and other members of Haddon's firm, likely including Morgan (21) and Foreman (5). The firm did Clinton's taxes for a number of years.

Bryan Morgan, one of John Ramsey's defense attorneys and partner in the Denver firm of Haddon (16), Morgan & Foreman (5). Former assistant attorney for City of Boulder and who still resides there. Morgan has been close friends with Hofstrom (9) for over 20 years, and they eat breakfast together frequently. He also attends the same Episcopal church as Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2), Hofstrom's family, Beuf (15), and Barbara and John Fernie.

John Stavely, partner in the firm of Chrisman (29), Bynum (8) & Johnson, is "Pasta" Jay's (14) attorney who has represented him in court for charges against him relating to his baseball bat assault and DUI.

Alex Hunter, Boulder County DA since 1972. Very active in state and local Democratic Party politics, Hunter is known to many as the "Monty Hall" of prosecutors for his failure to try cases and propensity for plea bargaining. His office came under attack by ex-BPD Detective Steve Thomas' resignation letter, which detailed ways in which Hunter and his Office have handled the Ramsey case. Hunter has political ties to Haddon (16) and Romer (3). Romer recently refused to appoint an independent prosecutor to replace Hunter in the Ramsey case, but will provide Hunter with assistance. Bynum (8) used to work for him as an assistant prosecutor. He has business ties to William Gray (5), Patsy and John Ramsey's (1, 2) civil attorney. Both have been limited partners in a commercial complex in Boulder since 1969. Wise (6) is a general partner in the same endeavor.

Gary Hart, former Democratic US Senator from Colorado who had to withdraw from the US presidential race in 1988 after the Monkey Business affair was disclosed. Shares "adultery" image with Clinton (20) and Romer (3). Haddon (16) was Hart's campaign manager in his earliest senatorial races.

Daniel Hoffman, one of three attorneys, including Robert Miller (11) and Richard Baer, who volunteered to help advise the Boulder Police Department. It was learned that Hoffman had been the client of Foreman (5) and Haddon (16), who had defended him in a legal malpractice suit involving, ironically a charge of conflict of interest. Hoffman has also represented Lockheed Martin, owners of Access Graphics where John Ramsey (2) was CEO, in several major tort actions.

Oliver North, Iran-Contra figure, failed US Senate candidate from Virginia, and conservative radio talk show host. Pat Korten (13) was a strong and outspoken North advocate.

Larry Pozner, NBC legal analyst, Denver criminal defense attorney, and rabid Ramsey defender. He is the new President of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Hal Haddon (16) financed a party for the Poz to celebrate his ascendancy to the presidency.

Trip DeMuth (real name Lawrence), Assistant to Hofstrom (9) in the DA's Office. Said to be chummy with Burke (19). Foreman (5) was seen rubbing his back during a meeting between Ramsey defense attorneys, the BPD, and the DA's team, which was held in Bynum's (8) law office.

Byron Chrisman, a founding partner in the law firm Chrisman, Bynum & Johnson, is a partner of Bynum (8).  He specializes in estate planning. Stavely (22), "Pasta" Jay's (14) attorney, is a law partner as well. Chrisman also  focuses on commercial real estate acquisition and development. One of his ventures is the office building which is the address given for the JonBenét Ramsey Children's Foundation, set up by Patsy and John Ramsey (1, 2). His son Jim Chrisman, who founded Chrisman Construction, Inc., and son Steve Chrisman, a realtor, are also involved in the endeavor.

Bill McCartney, former UC football coach and Founder of Promise Keepers. He is a good friend of "Pasta" Jay Elowsky (14) and his son, Tom McCartney, was a character witness in "Pasta" Jay's baseball bat defense.

Since this chart was made, it has been learned that Donald L. Stevens, husband of Colorado Lt. Governor Gail Schoettler (who is the current Democratic candidate for Governor of Colorado), made several phone calls to John Ramsey (2) following the murder. Stevens has been a friend of Ramsey for thirty-five years, since they were fraternity brothers at Michigan State in the 1960's. He is currently Managing Director of the Institute for International Business at the University of Colorado at Denver.  Stevens has a history of arrests for domestic violence in his previous marriage, and was able to get the court records sealed. His personal attorney is the firm of Haddon, Morgan & Foreman.

As Lt. Governor, Gail Schoettler was involved with negotiating the clean-up agreements for toxic waste at Rocky Mountain Arsenal and Rocky Flats. Hal Haddon (16) represents Rockwell International in its operation of the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons. Schoettler is also chairperson of the Aerospace States Association (ASA), in which both Rockwell and Lockheed Martin are represented. (Lockheed Martin was John Ramsey's employer, and Daniel Hoffman (25) has been closely associated with Lockheed as it's lead trial attorney in major legal actions.) Schoettler was a founder of the Denver Children's Museum, at which Patsy Ramsey (1) was known to volunteer her time. Schoettler has admitted to meeting the Ramseys twice, once at a meeting and once at a party; one meeting has taken place since the murder. She has said she would recuse herself if the Ramsey case comes before her in her capacity as governor, should she win the election.
