Six Degrees Game

For convenience, the Six Degrees DiagRam is reproduced on this page. Not only is the diagRam handy for tracking the Ramseys' Good Ol' Boy Network, but it's a great start for playing Six Degrees of Separation with the Ramseys!

Can you connect Patsy Ramsey to Delta Burke in four steps? How about John Ramsey to Larry Hagman, who played JR in Dallas, in three steps?*  Play Six Degrees of Separation with the Ramseys! (see answers below in red)

How to Play Six Degrees of Separation

Six Degrees of Separation is a trivia game based on the premise that everyone on Earth can be connected using six associations or less. The phrase originated in John Guare's play Six Degrees of Separation, which was later made into a movie starring Stockard Channing and Donald Sutherland. The game is usually applied to movie trivia, where actors are linked to other actors by movies they have in common, and most notably the ubiquitous actor Kevin Bacon is used as a vehicle through which to connect actors.

Example: Link Michelle Pfeiffer to Julia Ormond via Kevin Bacon

   1. Pfeiffer to Jack Nicholson in The Witches of Eastwick
   2. Nicholson to Kevin Bacon in A Few Good Men
   3. Bacon to Brad Pitt in Sleepers
   4. Pitt to Julia Ormond in Legends of the Fall

They were linked in four degrees.

Six Degrees of Separation with the Ramseys

Because the Ramseys are so well-connected, Six Degrees played with them as common links is a natural! In fact, it is predicted that the Ramseys will soon supplant Kevin Bacon as the most popular link for Six Degrees aficionados.

To help you play, refer to the chart above. The chart reflects some second and in some cases third degrees of associations of the Ramseys (counting the Ramseys as the first degree) largely from the political/legal power base in Boulder and Denver, and in the USA as a whole.

PLEASE NOTE: This chart only presents the tip of the iceberg. Only a very few people connected to the Ramseys are shown here, as it became a nightmare to show the relationships between just thirty people. It was necessary for technical reasons to focus on the politicolegal relationships to the exclusion of many others, as the geometric progressions involved as the connections proliferate are staggering to comprehend, much less illustrate.

For example, Ramsey cronies associated with the media and/or the University of Colorado are not included here, nor are many powerful social and business friends. It is hope that in the future this page can be expanded to include more relationships. Additionally, the chart only shows DOCUMENTED relationships. It is a certainty that there are many relationships between and among the Ramseys and the individuals depicted here (as well as many others not depicted) which I have not been able to document.

The legend above delineates documented, special relationships between and among the individuals represented in the chart.  Some people who are not included on the graph are mentioned in the legend. Additionally, only the basic connections are provided here. You will have to do your own research to jump to higher degrees of association and hence to play this game like a pro.
