Haddon, a founding partner of the high-powered Denver law firm Haddon, Morgan and Foreman, represents John Ramsey. A fundraiser in the Democratic party on all levels, he is perhaps best known as Gary Hart's former campaign manager.

Morgan, 59, another founding partner in the firm, also represents John Ramsey. He teaches professional responsibility at the University of Colorado Law School, and was a Colorado Supreme Court nominee.

Lee Foreman, 51, is the third founding partner in the firm and represents John Ramsey as well. He is a former special prosecutor for the Colorado attorney general and president of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.
Burke, 47, who represents Patsy Ramsey, was formerly an assistant city attorney in Lakewood, assistant state attorney general and a federal public defender.
Furman represents Patsy Ramsey. An independent attorney and a criminal law professor at the University of Colorado in Boulder, he has worked with Burke on other cases.
Bynum, a founding partner of the Boulder firm Chrisman, Bynum and Johnson, is a former Boulder assistant DA and was an attorney for Access Graphics, John Ramsey's business. He is a close personal friend of the Ramseys.
Gray is John and Patsy Ramsey's civil attorney.
Jenkins is an Atlanta attorney hired by John Ramsey to represent his son with Patsy, Burke Ramsey, his ex-wife, Lucinda Ramsey Johnson, and his children by that marriage, John Andrew and Melinda Ramsey.
Pat Korten represents a Washington, D.C.-based company, Rowan & Blewitt Inc., which specializes in "crisis management" and is typically hired by large corporations or governments. He was replaced 3/28/97.
Rachelle Zimmer, a 30-year-old Boulder resident with a journalism background, replaced Korten when he was laid off 3/28/97, ostensibly to save money.

Charlie Russell, managing partner of the Denver PR firm Russell, Karsh & Hagan, was hired by the Ramsey team in August 1997. Russell made it clear he was not representing his firm in this task, and formed a company called 'Ramseys for Legal Media Consulting Services' in an apparent attempt to distance his firm from the job.
Russell, Karsh & Hagan includes on its client list the "Rocky Mountain News" (Inside Denver is the online version).

Armistead, 46, is a former Lakewood police officer and a special investigator for the Routt County district attorney's office.
Williams has been a private investigator for nearly 20 years. Prior to that he spent five years on the Colorado Organized Crime Strike Force.
John Douglas was a pioneer of modern criminal investigative analysis and became the leading expert on criminal personality profiling, authoring several best-sellers on the subject. After Douglas publicly stated that he believed the Ramseys were innocent, criticism was rampant when he conceded that all the information for his "private" investigation came from the Ramsey team. He later recanted, saying he believed only that John Ramsey was not guilty, but could not vouch for Patsy.
On the Ramsey Family Statements Web site, Pat Korten wrote on 3/19/97 that "Handwriting experts retained by the Ramseys, among the most highly regarded in the field, have concluded that neither John nor Patsy Ramsey wrote the {ransom} note."
In August, 1999 one of the handwriting experts was identified as J. Donald Vacca, an Evergreen, Colorado documents examiner.
The Ramseys hired bodyguards to protect themselves from the media (not from the "killer").
Lawyers: Experts say the lawyers are paid at the rate of between $250 - $400 per hour. This does not include a sizable retainer up front or expenses.

Publicists: One expert estimated Korten may have charged $10,000 to $15,000 per month, plus expenses such as travel and other out-of-pocket costs. A second expert considered that estimate conservative. Korten said his firm charges $250 per hour or $1,000 per day. His bill alone could have cost the Ramseys $30,000 per month.

Private Detectives: H. Ellis Armistead is said to charge a retainer fee in the "tens of thousands" of dollars. Estimated costs per hour range from $85 to $200 plus expenses.

Profiler: A criminal profiler in private practice said a typical fee would be $200 per hour plus expenses.

Handwriting Experts: One expert said he charges $95 per hour, but said rates can be higher.
