About the Munkacs dynasty
Rebbe Moshe Yehuda Leib Rabinowitz of Brooklyn heads the dynasty. The previous Rebbe was his father, Rebbe Boruch Rabinowitz, of Holon, Israel. Rebbe Boruch's father-in-law, Rebbe Chaim Elozer Shapiro, was one of the greatest Gedolim of the past century. He authored the Shailos Uteshuvos Minchas Elozer. Rebbe Chaim's father, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh Shapiro, authored Darchei Teshuva and served as the Munkatcher Rebbe. Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh's father, Shlomo Shapiro, authored Shem Shlomo and was also a Rebbe. R' Shlomo's grandfather, R' Tzvi Elimelech, was founder of the Munkatch Dynasty and author of Bnei Yissichar.
