Demonstrative adjectives are the only adjectives that agree with their nouns (but only in number).

USE:
a) Demonstratives can be adjectives or pronouns.
These men live on the top of that hill. (adjectives)
That woman bought those flowers. (
adjectives)
What are those? They are melons. (
pronoun)
What is that? It is a pencil. (
pronoun)
These are my sisters. (
pronoun)

b) When there is some idea of comparison or selection, the pronoun ONE - ONES is generally placed after the demonstratives, especially when the demonstrative is followed by an adjective:
Do you like these green apples? No, I like those red ones.
Don't sell these books. Sell those (ones).
You carry those heavy cases; I'll carry these light ones.
This house is not comfortable. I prefer that (one).
