A. All
All means "whole, entire". It
stresses the concept of a unit or group:
All
(of) the employees worked hard.
They did all (of) the work in one day.
Note
that ALL is used
before plurals and before uncountable nouns.
ALL
can also be used as a pronoun with the
meaning of "everything" e.g.:
All's
well that ends well.
All is fine.
B. ALL and EVERY
ALL often has
the meaning of "every".
all + plural verb,
every + singular verb. E.g.:
All
employees have to participate.
Every employee has to participate.
All the
employees work hard.
Every employee works hard.
All the
people were talking loudly.
Everybody was talking loudly.
C. EACH and EVERY
EACH
directs attention to separate members of a group:
Each
boy had a special job to do.
EVERY has the same meaning as EACH, but it
emphasizes the idea of inclusiveness.
EACH and EVERY are followed by a singular verb. The
only important differences between them are:
1. EACH can be used as a
pronoun while EVERY cannot.
2. EACH can be used
for two or more persons or things, while EVERY is not normally
used for very small numbers:
Every
(or each) man must do his best. Two boys entered.
Each (boy) was carrying a suitcase. (every could not
be used here)
D. PRONOMINAL FORMS OF EVERY

knows that Rome is the Capital of Italy.
Everybody was disappointed that you could not come.
Everything he says is true.
Note that EACH, EVERY, EVERYONE, EVERYBODY, EVERYTHING, take a SINGULAR verb.
Note the following uses of EVERY and EACH:
1. "I go there
every other day." means, "I go on alternate
days." (e.g.: on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday).
"I
go there every two days."
