Harry "Kid" Mathews

Seattle, Washington
Heavyweight

Born, December 9, 1922 in Emmett, Idaho, Harry "Kid" Mathews was a highly regarded fighter who was the last roadblock to Marciano's title shot against Walcott. When he met The Rock, he had a very impressive record of 78 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, with 57 KOs. He was 29 years old and Marciano was 28.
Mathews had only been knocked out once, nine years before, but a hungry Marciano bulled through him inside of two rounds, dropping him with a pair of ferocious left hooks.

Record: 87 - 7 - 7 (61 KOs)
