* Jim Crockett sold WCW to Ted Turner in 1988. When Sting won the NWA title from Ric Flair in 1990, the NWA expressed concerns about WCW using the NWA name, since neither Turner nor his new organization were NWA members. In January 1991, WCW began using "WCW" for all their titles although joining the NWA at the same time to avoid legal troubles. Tom Zenk's TV title reign thus straddles the title's transition from NWA to WCW.
