From March 25, 1989 to 20 April, 1989 Tom Zenk took part in the 1989 All Japan Champion Carnival. At the same time Brian Pillman was in Japan touring with New Japan.
Overseas wrestlers taking part in the Carnival included - Tom Zenk, Danny Kroffat, Doug Furnas, Stan Hansen, Terry Gordy, Pete Roberts, Joel Deaton, Dusty Rhodes Jr., Abdullah the Butcher (March 25 - April 7) and: Harley Race (April 7 - April 20).
