Inside Wrestling reported - "How's this for an opening match? Rick Martel and Tom Zenk entered the ring to a thunderous ovation and solidified their standing as the up-and-coming tag team in the WWF with an impressive victory. The match degenerated into a four-way brawl, but in the end, Martel came off the ropes with a stunning high cross-bodyblock to pin Muraco at 5:37."

 

An otherwise forgettable six-man tag team match ended when Bundy caught hold of Little Beaver and delivered a bodyslam and a vicious elbow smash. This resulted in the disqualification of Bundy  at 3:25, but the lasting image of the match was that of all four midgets screaming at the giant Bundy for his cowardly act.

The stipulations of this match clearly stated that the winner would have to bow down to the loser, but only after getting pinned at 4:22 did Junkyard Dog realize what he had gotten into. Race won the match with a belly-to-belly suplex and sat on his throne, preparing to enjoy his reward. JYD managed to summon up a half-curtsy and a semi-bow, but when Race turned his back, the Dog went in for the kill. While the crowd went wild, Junkyard Dog picked up a chair and hit Race over the head. This would certainly be remembered as the most unsportsmanlike act of Wrestlemania III.
 
 
 
 

 

Without any obvious intentions, Brutus Beefcake turned good. Greg Valentine went wild after Beefcake accidentally hit him during a mid-ring scuffle. Afterward, Valentine, Johnny V and Dino Bravo left Brutus standing alone in the middle of the ring. All in all this was an incredible match with an incredible finish - Raymond Rougeau had Valentine pinned, but the ref was distracted by a fight in the far country. Bravo then hit Raymond to break the pin and placed Valentine over Rougeau. Just then the ref turned around and called the pin after 4.03 of non-stop action.

Beefcake comes to the rescue. Adonis loses his hair (or at leadt some of it), and Piper goes out (retires!) in a blaze of glory. Actually, the promised hair shaving was very disappointing. Beefcake, who did the job for Piper after Adonis fell victim to a sleeperhold at 6:20, was equipped with a rather ineffective razor. However, Adonis was sufficiently disgraced and Piper rode back to the dressing room, soaking in the cheers of the fans for the final time.

 

The Bulldog and Santana wanted revenge - they got it.

The Hart Foundation and Davis won the match, but nobody seemed to care. Davis took a brutal beating from Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy and Santana and had to be carried back to the dressing room. Ironically, poor refereeing by Dave Hebner cost the Bulldogs the match. Hebner was distracted in one corner by Dynamite Kid, Santana, Brett Hart and Jim Neidhart long enough for Davis to smash Davey Boy across the head with Jimmy Hart's megaphone. Davey Boy was knocked flat on his back and Davis Scored the pin at 8:52.

A poor match. After only 3:39 Koko executed a high cross-bodyblock, but Reed caught him and, with one motion, flipped Ware over for the pin. Afterward, Slick attacked Koko, but Santana ran into the ring and tore Slick's clothes to shreds. Next match.

This battle had an extraordinary 19 two-counts, 11 by Steamboat. Only outside interference by George 'The Animal' Steele (accompanyuing Steamboat) kept Savage from slamming the timekeeper's bell into Steamboat's throat for the second time in three months. This match never stopped moving and displayed these two wrestlers at their very best. Savage would have successfully defended his Intercontinental title, but referee Dave Hebner had been accidentally knocked out while the 'Macho Man' applied a pin for about 15 seconds. The match came to a sudden ending when Savage mounted the turnbuckle with the time bell but got pushed off by Steele. With Savage lying on the floor, Steamboat executed a reverse small package for the pin and the title at 14:35.

The first part of the match is an all out brawl. Once the chaos clears, the Killer Bees take over. They dominate with superb ring work. Nikolai Volkoff interferes and the heels take over the match. Volkoff and the Sheik dominate with pure power. The Iron Sheik hooks the camel clutch on Jim Brunzell. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (who accompanied the Killer Bees to the ring) nails The Iron Sheik with his 2X4. The Killer Bees lose the match by disqualification at 5:44.
 
 

 

At the opening,  Hogan goes for a slam on Andre, but Andre falls on top of him. Hogan is hurt and Andre powers through. He nails Hogan with axe handle blows, fists, and slams. Hogan tries to fight back, but Andre beats on him, concentrating on his back. Finally, after taking a pounding, Hogan powers back. He punches, elbows, uses everything he has but Andre doesn't fall. As Hogan attempts a clothesline, Andre boots him in the face. Andre locks on a bear hug. Hogan tries to get out but Andre isn't budging. 93,000 fans get behind Hogan and he finally breaks free. Hogan throws himself against the ropes and tries several shoulder blocks, but its Hogan who comes off worst. Again, Andre hits Hogan with the big boot, knocking him out of the ring. Outside Andre attempts a head butt on Hogan, but hits the ring post instead. Hogan attempts a piledriver on the concrete floor, but Andre reverses into a backbody drop. Andre rolls Hogan back into the ring and goes for the big boot again.  Hogan ducks, hits a clothesline, and Andre is down. Hogan is pumped and slams the 525-pound Andre. He goes for a leg drop and gets the pin at 12.01.
