Hitman took advantage of a short (pardon the pun)
experiment by the Whites as they put out a line of Uncle Bob and his partner
Dave (a first nighter) centered by Stump. Hitman scored the only
meaningful goal of the game. The Blues also took the meaningless
contest with a couple of early Mazzarella goals. Joe Jr. paid for
it a little later as the King flattened him with a rare clean check.
Joe was tagged with the nick name “Zamboni” after another tumble had him
covered with snow. Miller Lite made the game interesting when he
challenged Tweedy to shift out of Duffer speed and into over drive.
Lite bet Tweedy that he couldn’t score when he was on the ice. Tweedy
took the bet and is now waiting for the money, as he scored on his next
two shifts.
Return to Peoria?
Do you miss Peoria? Want to go back? The Rivermen have
a pair of home games against the Richman Renegades on March 3rd and 4th.
We are looking into a 1 nighter on Saturday March 4th. If you want
to go, let us know.
Mazurk couldn’t find his shoes on Sunday morning.
He didn’t think he walked from the bar in the snow, but where were
they? He finally found them in Klinger’s room. Klinger got
a bonus of a room to himself after spending Friday night with an Alien.

Valentine Rendezvous
If all goes well on Valentines Day,
2000, NASA's Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) spacecraft will go into
orbit around asteroid 433 Eros. Thruster firings on February 3 slowed NEAR
to a leisurely 18 mph and it is now less than 3000 miles from the asteroid.
When NEAR enters orbit around Eros on February 14, it will become the first
spacecraft to circle an asteroid. NEAR will use its instruments to scrutinize
the potato-shaped space rock, which is about twice the size of Manhattan
Island, for an entire year.
NASA language is really getting
sensuous Eros, Thruster and Rendezvous
Do you have an autographed
picture of Andy Devine?
We could use it at the Jimmy Buffett concert.
Did you pay for your Peoria Hat?
Uncle Bob got Club House Designs
(630) 616-9357 to donate some Duffer hats for a Peoria Beer fund raiser.
Hats are priced at $10.00 if you go to Peoria for the week end, you get
a $5.00 rebate. All proceeds will pay for Road trip beer. Thanks
UB, we finally found a way to get more than 10 guys
to go to Peoria.
The Mayor of Hayward is always
ready to open the city up to us! A number of Duffers have asked about
Hayward. Muzzy wants to go! Are you one of us?
Let's go to Hayward in March!
