The image shows a fragment of the 1:50 000 walking map "Allgäuer Alpen", sheet 8 in a series published by the Bavaria State Land Survey Office.
The gradient profile was verified using official 1:25 000 topographic maps (the source of the above walking map).
The color depth of the original has been reduced.

1) The climb starts at the eastern outskirts of Oberstdorf, between the ice-sports center and the Schattenberg ski jump hill,
famous from the Four Hills Tournament.
2) The public road ends at the Vordere Seealpe (1270 m). From here the road climbs gently for 1,5 km, roughly parallel
to the Faltenbach and the cable-car that eventually reaches the Nebelhorn (2224 m).
3) At around 1380 meters above sea level  the asphalted path starts climbing in steep, tight turns. The tarmac gives out
at the Edmund-Probst-Haus (1930). An unsurfaced track (and the cable-car) continues all the way to the Nebelhorn summit.
