Blue was a winner of 209 games in a 17 year major league career. He played for the Oakland Athletics (1969-'77) San Francisco Giants (1978-'81, '85-'86) and the Kansas City Royals (1982-'83). Blue was a four time All-Star (1971, '75, '78 and '81), led the A.L. with a 1.82 E.R.A. in 1971 and won 20 games in 1971, '73 and '75. Blue won the American league M.V.P. and Cy Young Awards in 1971. He threw a no-hitter against the Minnesota Twins on September 21, 1971.
