Ralph Boston
1960 Olympic Long Jump Champion
Winner of three Olympic medals in the long jump, Boston was the man to finally break Jesse Owen's 25 year old record in the long jump when he lept 26 feet 11 1/4 inches just two weeks before the Olympics. He eventually extended the record to 27 feet 4 3/4 inches and it was that record that was broken by Bob Beamon at the 1968 Olympics. Boston won long jump silver in 1964 and bronze in 1968.
