A collegian at Princeton, Bradley led the Ivy League school to the N.C.A.A. Final Four in 1965, scoring a then-record of 58 points in the consolation game against Wichita State. Bradley had played on the United States Gold Medal winning team at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. As a professional, Bradley helped the New York Knicks to N.B.A. championships in 1970 and 1973. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982. Bradley served in the United States Congress as a Senator from New Jersey from 1979 to 1996. Bradley ran for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2000, but lost the nomination to Al Gore.
