Mark Breland
1984 Olympic Boxing Champion
A five-time Golden Gloves Champion and the 1982 world champion, Breland entered the Olympics with an amatuer record of 104-1. He was an overwhelming favorite. He looked tense and unspectacular in his bouts, but still managed to win the gold medal in the welterweight division easily. Breland later went on to a successful but unspectacular professional career, winning a world welterweight championship.
