Two time Olympic 400 meter finalist
Ranked number two in the world by Track and Field News in 1975 and 1977, Brijdenbach was fourth in the 400 meter run in the 1976 Olympics and fifth in 1980. His time of 45.04 in Montreal still stands as the Belgian national record. He was a member of the Belgian 4x400 meter relay team in 1980 that failed to advanced out of the heats.
