Jose Canseco
1988 American League Most Valuable Player
Canseco came up with the Athletics and won the Rookie of the Year in 1986, he helped Oakland win the first of three consecutive American League titles in 1988 when he won the Most Valuable Player award and became the first player ever to steal 40 bases and hit 40 home runs in the same season. A six-time All-Star (1986, '88, '89, '90, '92, '96) Canseco also led the American League in home runs in 1991. In 16 major league seasons, he has hit 462 home runs with 1,407 R.B.I. and a .266 batting average and a .515 slugging percentage.
