Ben Davidson
Three-time N.F.L. Pro Bowl selection
A third round draft pick of the New York Giants in 1961, Davidson bounced to the Packers and Redskins, before arriving in Oakland in 1964. The former University of Washington player immediately became the team’s starting right defensive end, a position he capably manned until 1972, when a torn Achilles tendon shortened his career. Davidson lasted one more year with the Raiders—a bonus year which he considers a gift from Al Davis— and concluded his professional career in 1974 with the Portland Storm of the WFL.
