1974 American League Rookie of the Year
Hargrove won the Rookie of the Year award in 1974 as a first baseman for the Texas Rangers. He was an all-star in 1975. Playing 12 years in the majors, mostly with the Cleveland Indians, Hargrove batted .292 lifetime. Later a major league manager, he led the Indians to American League Pennants in 1995 and 1997, losing in the World Series both years. He also managed the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners.
