2000 Olympic Silver and Bronze medalist
Howey won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and a silver in 2002 in Sydney. She won the 1997 World Championships in Paris, took silver medals in 1993 and 2001 and bronze medals in 1991 and 1999. Howey competed in her fourth Olympic Games in 2004 where she had the honor of carrying the British flag at the opening ceremony. She was eliminated in the round of 16 and announced her retirement in October of 2004.
