1970 World Championship Balance Beam Silver Medalist
A member of the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team at both the 1968 and 1972 Olympics, Rigby became the first American to win a medal at the World Gymnastics Championships in 1970 with a silver medal on the balance beam. Rigby finished 16th in the All-Around in 1968 and 10th in 1972 at the Olympics. In both Olympics, she narrowly missed qualifying for the six-woman finals in balance beam. She qualified 7th in 1968 and tied for 6th in 1972, but lost the tiebreaker to advance to the final. Following her gymnastics career, she went into acting and broadcasting, playing the title role in Peter Pan on Broadway. She was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1997.
